A New Standard of Security
CISP Compliance is established around a set of 12 industry-wide requirements designed to protect sensitive information from being compromised. These requirements (and their numerous sub-requirements) are directed at all businesses that store, process, or transmit cardholder information. Requirements for CISP Compliant providers include:
- Maintaining Vulnerability Management Programs (documented development, testing, and change control processes, and more)
- Implementing Strong Access Control Measures (access logging and tracking, password management, two-factor authentication, and more)
- Regular Network Monitoring and Testing (external penetration testing, network intrusion detection system, file integrity monitoring, and more)
- Maintaining Information Security Policies (security policies and training program and more)
- Demonstrating safe behavior in dealing with sensitive data, security in personnel policies, and security in physical building security
